Following the Fundão dam rupture in Mariana, Minas Gerais, Brazil, the Renova Foundation was established to address the damages along the Doce River Basin. Among its initiatives, the Rio Doce School Project aims to train environmental educators in the areas affected by the disaster in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. This pioneering and innovative research examines the development and evaluation of the MOOC "Environmental Law Legislation," which is part of an Initial and Continuing Training program. Based on the ADDIE model, the course engaged 39 participants, whose feedback was collected through questionnaires and learning diaries on the Moodle platform. The findings indicated a positive evaluation, with recommendations for more detailed videos and more concise texts. Most participants agreed that the course was well-structured and met or exceeded their expectations, significantly contributing to their development as environmental educators.
