The present action-research project on the debate as a strategy to promote oral expression and interaction in the Spanish as a second language class, constitutes a final reflection on a research process carried out in three phases: a) The direct observation of classes, b) the intervention in the classroom and c) analysis of the results obtained. Through a proposal of teaching for tasks and having as a final task the realization of a debate, a didactic unit was proposed in which the importance of facilitating tasks prevailed. For this, we proposed activities not only aimed at improving the conversation, exposure and argumentation of the student, possible work functions with this group of students, but also and without leaving aside, activities to strengthen the written, grammatical and listening skills. Likewise, to make the intervention phase even more active and dynamic, a blog was created not only as a memoire of the experience; but also, that students could regularly find and review in each blog entry, vocabulary pertinent to their respective topics of debate, oral expression strategies, communicative resources, questions and information to reflect on their respective subjects and, finally, exercises to be done both at home and in the classroom. The project framework includes, in all the studied phases, the main activities performed and a detailed analysis of the results achieved through the conclusion of the research.
