Taking the Covid-19 pandemic as a context, this article presents an integrative literature review regarding the main challenges faced by educational institutions during the period of implementation of emergency remote education. Through the methodology of bibliographic research, the challenges already reported in research around the world were sought in publications from the year 2020 and the first half of 2021 were identified. As a result, the identified challenges were categorized and presented in four dimensions: technological and logistical; didactic-pedagogical; social, affective or psychological; and economic/financial.
