Abstract

In the context of the restrictions caused by the COVID 19 Pandemic, 3 trainees from ESE-IPP of AVTA graduation, undertaking their Initiation to Professional Practice at the Second Chance School of Matosinhos (E2OM), were challenged to reinvent strategies and methodologies to involve and integrate young early leavers attending E2OM. This is how the Mapa Mundi and Favela projects came about, within a larger project, the E2OM 2021 performance"Circum-Navegar". This project was installed and staged on Flor de Infesta theater, impacting all those who worked on it and mobilized ART to the center of this experience, as creative self-expression, cognitive development, facilitator of academic performance and preparation for work. Through Artistic Education, synergies were created that kept young people connected to the institution and to the proposals presented in E@D format during the confinement. It was a very challenging experience, of adaptation and opportunities to develop activities and projects suited to the characteristics of the new reality and the needs and aspirations of the group of young people.
