Vol. 2 No. 1 (2019): 1ª Convenção Nacional Sobre Ensino a Distância - Número Especial

The Polytechnic of Porto, on the 6th of May 2019, held the 1st National Convention of Distance Learning (1ª Convenção Nacional do Ensino a Distância), for the analysis of the DL 83/2019 - Regime Jurídico do Ensino Superior Ministrado a Distância (RJED): Regulação do ensino a distância – nota de enquadramento (MCTES). This convention - the first of its kind - was designed in a mixed typology (face-to-face and videoconference/online), bringing together national experts in DL from university and polytechnic institutions, public and private, and more than a hundred participants and speakers (face-to-face and virtual). In this convention a broad discussion was held around the main points of concern to the Portuguese academic community, namely: the accreditation and evaluation of degree courses in DL; the pedagogical models of DL suitable for higher education; the qualification of the DL teaching staff and the funding. Given the relevance of the event and the discussion in question, the dissemination and sharing of conclusions becomes relevant. To this end, Revista Pratica e-Learning joined this event and publishes this special issue dedicated exclusively to the reports of the different panels of the convention.
