E-Journal of Intercultural Studies
This is the page for E-REI – E-Journal of Intercultural Studies, published on a yearly basis, by the Centre for Intercultural Studies (CEI) of the Business and Accounting School of the Polytechnic of Porto.
The idea for this Journal came from the interest of our students and trainees for scientific research and from the need to disseminate the works by CEI and their partners, both national and international, both teachers and students.
On the pages of E-REI, a virtual exchange space is created for ideas and research works in the vast area of Intercultural Studies, in their intersection with Cultural Studies, Translation and Interpreting Studies, Communication Studies, and Literary and Linguistic Studies.
E-REI is a Journal created, built, and written in freedom and collaboration, as free and collaborative is the research developed at CEI. The title is intentionally ambiguous and ironic. And also brave. If we make a mistake, it means that we have tried. All authors have walked a sinuous and difficult path together, reaching much higher than expected. A path that has given us new perspectives, landscapes, and memories. Like a mountain road with an incomparable view.

POLISSEMA is an international peer-reviewed, open-access journal. Sensos-e journal is a biannual publication of INED - Centre for Research and Innovation in Education, from the Porto Polytechnic School of Education. It is a peer-reviewed journal, in an electronic format and online. Cadernos IRI: Imagens do Real Imaginado
The IRI Journal: Images of the Imagined Real appeared in 2015 publishing articles by PhD students from the ESMAE/IPP Image and Arts Department but is currently presented as a Scientific Journal of annual publication, under the responsibility of UniMAD, the Research Unit of School of Media Arts and Design of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. It helds a Scientific Council with recognized merit researchers and personalities, in areas such as Visual Culture, Cinema, Photography, Design, Architecture, Multimedia Production, Informatics and Aesthetics, among others.
The Journal welcomes selected articles for double blind peer review, from diverse areas connected with the production and reception of the image in its multiple optical, graphic and typographic aspects, and intends to discuss questions of reading, utilization, appropriation and production of images, in its isogrammatic, ideogrammatic and diagrammatic dimensions and in the synergetic relation with texts of several other semiotic systems.
Fighting for a rigorous critical production and for the presentation of contemporary research, it integrates works of scientific, critical and artistic dimension, paying attention to the space that the image has gained in the contemporary societies and to its influence in the construction of the homo videns thought and actin, while immersed in a real or virtual world, surrounded by multiple technological tools that build and give back multiple images of the same world. -
Neutro à Terra
A revista “Neutro-à-Terra” é uma revista técnico-científica, publicada semestralmente pelo Departamento de Engenharia Eletrotécnica do ISEP, que se destina a alunos de cursos superiores em Engenharia Eletrotécnica e, de uma forma geral, a todos os profissionais do Setor Eletrotécnico.
A edição da revista é da responsabilidade de alguns docentes do Departamento de Engenharia Eletrotécnica do ISEP, especializados em sistemas de energia elétrica, nomedamente nas áreas das máquinas e instalações elétricas.
Em cada edição da revista, são publicados artigos alguns de natureza mais técnica mas outros de natureza mais científica, de assuntos tão diversos como as Máquinas Elétricas, a Produção, Transporte e Distribuição de Energia Elétrica, as Instalações Elétricas, as Telecomunicações, os Sistemas de Segurança, a Gestão de Energia e Eficiência Energética, a Automação, a Gestão Técnica e a Domótica. -
Journal Music, Psychology and Education
The Music, Psychology and Education Journal aims to promote, develop and deepen the dialogue between the knowledge of Educational Sciences and Music at a national level, taking as a reference written international research and presentations at conferences, symposiums and seminars of the specialty.
The collaboration in the Journal is open to any teacher/researcher, national or foreign, who has developed reflections in the area in which the journal proposes to work.
Proposed articles will always be subject to prior evaluation to check whether their content corresponds to the objectives of this publication.
It is expected that the journal's target audience, in addition to teachers and researchers in the areas of Education, Music and Education and Music in the Community, will include i) teachers at all levels of education, both generic and specialised music education; ii) students of Bachelor's and Bachelor's degrees in Musical Sciences, Music Teaching, Music and Educational Sciences; iii) master's and doctoral students in these same areas; iv) and students from teacher and educator training schools, both at the initial and continuing training level. -

A The Trends Hub, Revista Académica de Tendências em Comunicação e Ciências Empresariais, é uma publicação concebida para acolher e disseminar tendências atuais e futuras nas mais diversas áreas da comunicação empresarial, identificadas pelos estudantes finalistas da Licenciatura em Comunicação Empresarial do ISCAP. É uma publicação anual de artigos sujeitos a revisão por uma comissão científica de peritos, profissionais no terreno e académicos.
A atividade editorial da revista segue em paralelo com o fórum digital The Trens Hub no Linkedin (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), uma comunidade crescente de estudantes, alumni, profissionais e entusiastas da Comunicação Empresarial e Ciências Empresariais, que se juntam para escrever e comentar as tendências atuais e futuras.

The eletronic journal CONFERENCE - RESEARCH AND INTERVENTION IN HUMAN RESOURCES (iCPRIHR) aims to electronically publish original papers accepted by the Scientific Committee and presented in each edition of the Conference.
iCPRIHR was created by the Human Resources group currently based in the Centre for Organizational and Social Studies of the Polytechnic of Porto (CEOS.PP), of the Higher Institute of Porto Accounting and Business School, Polytechnic of Porto.
The iCPRIHR aims to contribute to build answers to different issues of Human Resources that arise to all that work with people. This Conference is for those whose professional activity (manager, technical, consultant, academic or educator) is focused on rethinking the management and development of people in a broad and demanding context of the society characterized by the current socio-economic paradigm.
Based on this complexity of Human Resources, this conference proposes the integrate multidisciplinary perspectives and theoretical and practical perspectives on cross-cutting issues related to PEOPLE and their OCCUPATIONS, promoting and expanding the discussion to practitioners and researchers from different fields of activity and knowledge.
This is an international Conference, publishing in Portuguese/Spanish and English scientific papers (theoretical, and empirical research) and case studies.
The studies/case studies submitted to the journal must be unpublished and not under consideration for publication in any other dissemination vehicle.
The CONFERENCE - RESEARCH AND INTERVENTION IN HUMAN RESOURCES receives papers for evaluation in the periods foreseen to submit papers at each Conference and is carried out through the conference website or the journal itself in the "Submission" section.

The main theme of the BOBCATSSS 2021 conference is DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION.
Information and communication technologies have a great impact on society, namely with regard to the immediacy of access to information, the constant increase in the available information volume, the automation of services, the dematerialization of processes, the alteration of supports and formats, the attention to the client and changes in the behavior of individuals. These impacts are also felt in the way people interact with information, in professional, academic, personal and playful terms.
Soon half of consumers will be digital natives and this will force the digital transformation in organizations, creating new opportunities for change, including in organizational, cultural and legal standards.
Digital transformation as an effect of a process marked by the influence of ICT in society will influence changes in business models and in the way it develops, with ICT and, inseparably, information, having a leading role in any organization.
According to Rogers (2016) and Herbert (2017), it is possible to identify five domains where the digital transformation takes place and which are based on the transversal use of ICT:
1. Customers, who interact dynamically with organizations
2. Competition, which presupposes a differentiation of organizations vis-à-vis the consumer / final customer
3. Information, which due to its essential nature for the business, whether structured or not, will require an increasingly strict management
4. Innovation, focusing on the development of new ideas
5. Value, which becomes volatile in the face of market demand
Information professionals face challenges that can be characterized by the transfer and sharing of knowledge, their safeguarding, the selection and filtering of information, the management of information and resources, access through the use of national and international networks and the structuring information service appropriate to the organization.It will therefore be necessary for information professionals to be active elements in the digital transformation of organizations, as true informational mediators which is why the theme of the BOBCATSSS 2021 virtual conference is “Digital Transformation.”

PRATICA - Multimedia Research Journal on Pedagogical Innovation and e-Learning Practices

The Pratica eLearning Scientific Journal is an annual publication of the Pedagogical Innovation Center of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. Created in 2017, it is a multimedia journal from the Ibero-American space, with peer review and in electronic and open format, focused on good practices of innovation and distance training in education. Therefore, it publishes research papers focusing on innovation, development and/or intervention within the teaching and learning process, in a broad sense and in diverse areas and scopes in formal and non-formal contexts. From 2023 onwards, at least two numbers will be published per year.

Encontro Nacional de Educação Básica
A educação, sendo um direito fundamental de todas as crianças e jovens, constitui-se um meio através da qual se constrói o futuro de uma nação. O cumprimento do desígnio constitucional de garantir que todas as crianças e jovens tenham oportunidade de acesso a uma educação de qualidade, gratuita e universal, levou Portugal à implementação de várias políticas educativas, com vista à melhoria da qualidade das aprendizagens, à inclusão e à equidade na Educação. Neste âmbito, destaca-se o projeto de Autonomia e Flexibilidade Curricular e os novos documentos curriculares, Perfil dos Alunos à Saída da Escolaridade Obrigatória e as Aprendizagens Essenciais que preconizam uma escola inclusiva, no sentido lato, para crianças e jovens portugueses e de outras nacionalidades, que por diversas razões encontram em Portugal um porto de abrigo. Outra área educativa que tem tido um forte impacto nas escolas portuguesas é a que respeita à formação de professores, nomeadamente o Programa de Capacitação Digital dos Docentes que, a par das medidas já referidas e do investimento do governo em recursos materiais e humanos, fomenta uma aproximação da Escola aos avanços científico-tecnológicos atuais, que capacite as novas gerações para os desafios emergentes e do futuro.
Apesar de todos os esforços, a educação em Portugal enfrenta diversos constrangimentos que afetam a qualidade da educação e o desenvolvimento holístico de crianças e jovens. O índice de abandono escolar, que apesar de registar uma grande melhoria continua a persistir, a desigualdade social, que atinge principalmente as crianças e jovens de famílias desfavorecidas, a crescente falta de docentes em algumas áreas e regiões do país são alguns dos desafios prementes de reflexão e cuja resolução se revela estruturante para a educação. Para enfrentar esta conjuntura urgem respostas transformadoras, que promovam uma educação mais inclusiva e equitativa, um investimento contínuo em recursos materiais, na qualificação e na formação de professores, na criação de espaços de diálogo e no incentivo à participação da comunidade escolar em projetos de valorização e de desenvolvimento pessoal e social.
É neste contexto educacional português que se enquadra a iniciativa do I Encontro Nacional de Educação Básica cujo objetivo principal é reunir profissionais da Educação, investigadores, estudantes e líderes, num espaço de diálogo e de reflexão, partilhando ideias e experiências e construindo respostas capazes de impulsionar a transformação necessária. É neste pressuposto que se alicerçam os objetivos do Encontro:

promover a discussão e o debate sobre questões nucleares da Educação Básica e da Escola Pública;

valorizar a formação inicial e contínua de profissionais de Educação;
-
valorizar o diálogo entre a investigação científico-pedagógica e as práticas educativas;
-
proporcionar um espaço de apresentação e de partilha de projetos e de experiências educativas;
-
partilhar práticas educativas de reconhecido impacto por instituições de Educação Básica.
