The study presented focuses on the metric box, a resource connected to the history of classrooms of our schools, that it is still present today in various school institutions.
Based on educational and didactic guidelines, the investigation was based on the verification of the pertinence of the use of the materials in the metric box. Therefore, it was selected a resource from the metric box (two-scale scale) and it was inserted a new resource (Arduino). This created a more updated metric box which allows for a wider curricular coverage.
In this sense, a didactic path was implemented, which was centered on the mentioned resources, in a class of the 1st year, which allowed to verify the curricular articulation in the areas of Mathematics and Study of the Environment, as well as in Artistic Education.
Regarding the nature of the methodology, it is classified as mixed, since it incorporates characteristics of the quantitative and qualitative methodology.
The concretization of the sessions mirrored the development of different skills enshrined in the Student’s Profile after leaving school, and it made it possible to confirm that the referred resources are excellent instruments for the exploration of various programmatic topics.
