Abstract

This study, derived from an academic master's thesis and duly updated, investigates the relationship between Science Communication and Scientific Literacy in the democratization of knowledge. It proposes recommendations based on the principle of the inseparability of Teaching, Research, and Extension, analyzing its influence on scientific literacy and access to information. The hypothesis suggests that these recommendations can train scientists committed to the dissemination of knowledge, combating misinformation and expanding social participation. This is a descriptive and bibliographic study with a qualitative approach. The expected results include new approaches to strengthen the democratization of science through Science Commucation and Scientific Literacy. It is concluded that the study fulfilled its proposal to deepen theoretical and epistemological reflection on the concepts analyzed, broadening perspectives on the impact on public understanding of science and technology.
