Peritranslational elements are important transmitters of the translator's ideology and/or of the preliminary norms of society that will appear in a work. In this brief study we analyse some peritraductive elements of two works of German law that have been translated into Portuguese - Verwaltungsretch and Allgemeines Wirtschafverwaltungsrecht. The elements I have highlighted are the cover, the title and the preface of the books, as I felt they were appropriate for this study and given their importance.
