Abstract

The education of university students with intellectual disabilities represents a notable advancement in promoting inclusivity and fostering their development, particularly when considering their attitudes toward technology. This study specifically examines their perspectives on information and communication technologies (ICT), with a focus on accessibility via internet-enabled devices. The primary aim of the research is to explore the attitudes and learning outcomes related to online information and communication among individuals with intellectual disabilities. The study involved a sample of 15 university students. The findings reveal that participants are cognizant of the dangers associated with accessing harmful websites and demonstrate an awareness of the risks involved in sharing personal data, downloading, or utilizing pirated content. However, they exhibit limited ability to identify fraudulent websites or phishing messages designed to deceive users. Regarding knowledge acquisition related to social media, participants understand the concept of social networks and their appropriate use. Gender-based differences were also observed: female participants displayed greater comprehension of legal versus illegal content, whereas male participants exhibited a higher propensity to engagewith new individuals through social media platforms.

In conclusion, the study's findings contribute to narrowing the digital divide, enhancing digital inclusion, and providing a foundation for future research aimed at advancing digital education for all.
