The use of digital manuals in the classroom represents a significant transformation in the teaching and learning process. This innovative approach aims to take advantage of the potential of technology to enhance the educational experience. Among the benefits, the interactivity provided by digital manuals stands out, which incorporate multimedia elements, such as videos and simulations, making learning more dynamic and engaging. However, its use does not garner consensus, both among teachers and students.
With the implementation of digital manuals in the classroom, an opportunity arose to carry out this investigation, which involved the participation of 19 students from a 5th year class at a school in Valongo, where we tried to understand how students faced this new reality, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of its use.
The investigation is a case study, qualitative in nature, field notes, written productions and responses to a questionnaire survey carried out among students were collected. The data obtained revealed both advantages and disadvantages in using digital manuals. As advantages, we have, for example, the countless and diverse resources available to teachers and students. But disadvantages are also highlighted, one of which is the difficulty in accessing the internet.
