Abstract

This article describes the adaptation of the MindSerena Adventure program, initially designed for basic education, for higher education students. This program is a component of the MindSerena model, based on the principles of Mindfulness and sustainable development. Six students from the Escola Superior de Saúde, do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal, participated in this study. To evaluate its effect, a qualitative methodology was used, based on semi-structured interviews. Preliminary results point to changes in the participants' attitudes, demonstrating a more humanized and tolerant approach in relation to themselves and others. Also noteworthy is the increased awareness of the need to preserve the environment and to build an ecological and contemplative culture. From this work, indications for the application of this program with higher education students emerged and the implications of these results for future investigations are discussed.
