Abstract

The origin of research on the teaching of basic programming concepts in basic education is something that takes us back to the 1960s, as well as the basis of the theories of "learning by programming" a computer. The use of programming languages allows, among other things, to create opportunities so that students are not mere consumers, but creators. Thus, this article presents the main projects developed at the national level that had or have as objective to promote the use of programming and the de-development of computational thinking in students of the Portuguese Basic Education.
