The GeoGebra Institute of Portugal and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Science and Culture Education develop training actions for mathematics teachers in: Cape Verde, since 2016; Mozambique, since 2017; Angola, since 2018. The initial and continuous training of teachers involves groups of teachers promoting the learning and teaching of mathematics supported by technology, using GeoGebra, in a collaborative network of PLOP institutions, which develops transnational dynamics to support communities of teachers, in the creation and implementation of educational experiences. With funding from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in 2019, the project to reinforce the skills of teachers in Cape Verde in the teaching and learning of Mathematics and Science, oriented the focus of the work towards the STEAM approach, a strategy to prepare citizens for the challenges of the 21st century, integrating science contexts where GeoGebra is used as a tool for producing knowledge and developing skills and multidisciplinary approaches. This article intends to present the context, the theoretical framework, initiatives, and the results of the first questionnaire applied to the participants in this teacher training project.
