Training of trainers and pilot training of Mathematics teachers with GeoGebra in STEAM context

The work referred to in this article is part of the project “Strengthening the training of mathematics teachers in Portuguese-speaking countries in a STEAM & GeoGebra logic” that adopted the development of mathematics training as a strategy, using technology with based on GeoGebra software. This initiative aims to reinforce the training of the 26 Cape Verdean GeoGebra trainers, from the Poles of the University of Cape Verde, Praia, Mindelo and Assomada and to conduct pilot training workshops for teachers in Basic and Secondary Education, in different municipalities of the Islands of Santiago and São Vicente, as part of this certification process. Concomitantly the project has a research aspect, integrated in the research project “GeoGebra & STEAM - Teacher Training - Teaching and Learning Mathematics in STEAM context with GeoGebra in Portuguese Speaking Countries”, under development at the Center for Research and Innovation in Education of the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. Within the scope of this article, an assessment is made of the work carried out, in the context of COVID-19, for the preparation of the first phase of training sessions for trainers.
