The present text raises questions related to the forms of construction of identity in education. In order to address it, we rely on an educational reading of the theme from three major authors: Durkheim, Geerzt and Corcuff, authors who, from different perspectives, have dealt with the concept of socialization and identity construction (subjective or assigned).
Thinking about the diversity and the educational actions that derive from it, nowadays, is one of the most debated issues and the most succinct controversies in the education system. The contributions made by these authors are, in many cases, taken as arguments to decide what to do or not do, what to allow or prohibit, teach or silence in today's school.
Although in the educational institution, the thought of Geerzt prevails (at least in appearance), the day-to-day performances could be interpret according to the Durkheim’s model. It is, from this contradiction, that we try to confront the ideas of these authors (also relying on the contributions of Corcuff) and taking the idea of socialization as the central axis of this text.
