This article is based in the French trend of Discourse Analysis theory, of which Michel Pêcheux was one pioneer, and museology theories. Through them, we intend to understand the discourse of scientific museum Catavento, in the city of São Paulo (Brazil). Our aim is to instigate the discussion between culture, science and scientific discourse. We provide some considerations and analysis about an example of scientific museum into a big city’s context. We report how Catavento’s museum read the scientific conceptions, interprets the discourse of science, and incorporates the conception of popularization, divulgation and democratization of scientific culture.
