REGULATION

I - Identification and Mission

1. Sensos-e Journal is a biannual publication of inED – Center for Research and Innovation in Education, of the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Portugal.
2. It is a peer-reviewed, double-blind journal in electronic and online format.
3. Publishes research and/or innovation and intervention work in the field of education, falling within the scope of inED's lines of research (Teacher Training and Professional Development; Special Education and Inclusive Pedagogy; Social Challenges, Culture, and Education). Articles may include multimedia resources, color and hypertext, and possibilities for dynamic interaction.

II - Organisation and Functioning

1. The managing bodies of Sensos-e Journal are:
a. Editorial Board, composed by the Editor and the Deputy Editors;
i. The Editor is designated by the inED Executive Board and has a casting vote;
ii. The Deputy Editors, at least four in number, are invited by the inED Executive Board among the researchers affiliated with inED.
b. The Editorial Council, which is composed of renowned national and foreign researchers from outside the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, is invited by the Editor, upon proposal by the Editorial Board and/or the Executive Board of inED.
2. The arbitration of submitted articles is the responsibility of the Editorial Board, with the review carried out either by its members or by experts invited by the Editorial Body.
3. It is the responsibility of the Editor, assisted by the Editorial Board:
a. To promote the journal;
b. To launch a call for papers, in accordance with points III-1 and III-2;
c. To receive submitted articles and arrange for the Editorial Council to review them;
d. To decide on the structure, composition, and organization of each issue of the journal, taking into account the terms of III-2;
e. To write the Editorial or request its writing by individuals of recognized merit, in which case the Editorial shall be signed.
4. The mandates of the Editor and Editorial Board are equivalent to that of the inED Executive Board.

III - Editorial Guidelines

1. The journal publishes articles written in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English, in the following formats:
a. Papers submitted to peer review processes, which are the focus of the journal, namely papers related to empirical research, based on quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies; meta-analyses; review papers aiming the critical analysis of specific topics in Education;
b. Papers submitted following invitations made by the Editorial Board;
c. Critical reviews submitted for review or following invitations made by the Editorial Board;
d. Letters, interviews, and other content, on the Editorial Board's initiative.
2. The journal is organized into Volumes and Issues:
a. The Volumes are numbered sequentially, each corresponding to a calendar year;
b. The issues are numbered sequentially, with two issues published per year, the first in July and the second in December.
c. Each issue may contain a thematic section, as decided by the Editorial Board and approved by the inED Executive Board, in addition to articles submitted and approved for publication in the areas defined in I-3;
d. For each issue, the Editorial Board will associate an Editorial, published in Portuguese and English, written by itself or by a guest contributor, in which case the Editorial will be signed.
e. By decision of the Editorial Board and with the approval of the inED Executive Board, there may be “extra series” issues on specific thematic areas, proposed by inED researchers, whose organization, under their responsibility, must follow the principles set out in the previous points of these regulations. In this case, the proposer(s) will appear as Guest Editor(s).
3. The refereeing is the responsibility of the Editorial Council, taking into account the provisions of III-2.
4. Anonymity is guaranteed in the referee process.
5. The document with guidelines for authors is available at https://parc.ipp.pt/index.php/sensos/about/submissions.
6. The template to be used by reviewers is made available after they indicate their acceptance to undertake the review.
7. No fees are charged for submission, evaluation, publication, or access to articles. The editorial process is completely free of charge for authors.

IV - Repository Policy

The storage of published articles (final version, post-peer review) in institutional, thematic, or personal repositories is permitted immediately after publication. It is recommended that the complete reference to the published article be included and that the same license be maintained. This policy is in accordance with the principles of open access.

V - Copyright Statement

Authors retain the authorial rights of their work published in Sensos-e, which is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
