Abstract

Confucianism, an important school of thought in China, has influenced not
only the entire Chinese society, but also several other Asian countries until now. In the vast
ocean of Confucianism, it is essential to be able maintain and develop the five ethical
values of doctrine “仁义礼智信” (benevolence, justice, order, knowledge and honesty), as
they have great relevance in our era and can be a guiding philosophy in many aspects, for
example, business. This paper aims to interpret the five Confucian ethical values and
analyze their role in guiding business operations.
