Abstract

This article analyses the history of the first translation in Brazil of the drama Der gute Mensch von Sezuan written by Bertolt Brecht and translated by the translator and poet Geir de Campos. It also presents the circumstances of the play’s staging (1958) and its subsequent publication (1959). Also recalled is the second and new translation of the drama also by Geir de Campos and its publication in1977
