Abstract

It is about dialogues between activist-researchers.a.s4 of gender and sexualities issues with lesbian and bisexual teachers from public education in Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil about issues related to sexual diversity in school. It presents reports from cisgender teachers about difficulties in dealing with sexual diversity at school. It reports the teachers' impressions on the theme, focusing on the implications of belonging to certain sexual and gender categories in the pedagogical performance. It informs thatthe school environment is permeated by prejudice, in which lesbo-homo-trans and biphobia are part of the heteronormative discourses and that forces lesbian and bisexual teachers to a concealment of their sexual orientation as a kind of armor to ensure professional respect.
