In this article I will analyze the translation of German compound adjectives into Portuguese, because it is one of the grammatical classes in which are integrated the elements of the language which are considered major carriers of information as regards the languages for special purposes. On one hand, we ought not to forget that people often have to make use of languages for special purposes, besides the so called common language. An example of these languages for special purposes is the legal language, which we find in many aspects of our daily life, but often we are unaware of that fact. On the other hand, the present globalization caused the growth of legal translations, a difficult but not impossible task.
