The Swiss author Friedrich Dürrenmatt assumes the importance of the events of his life throughout several of his essays. In the present approach of this theme will be explored only two recurring aspects in his work - religion and myths - and which prove to be fundamental to his writing. The author of the present text will try to explore the genesis of the referred themes and also how they influenced the choice of contents and literary modes of Dürrenmatt. In addition, the aims and interpretations made by this Swiss author in various essays will be analyzed, in order to explain his reflections and his literary choices and decisions.
