Influência das redes sociais na atividade física e no desempenho motor

Resumo

Nos últimos anos as Redes Sociais (RS) passaram a integrar de forma intensa o quotidiano de crianças, adolescentes e jovens adultos, influenciando hábitos, comportamentos e formas de estar. Este artigo reflete sobre a relação entre RS, Atividade Física (AF) e Desempenho Motor (DM), defendendo que essa influência existe, mas não de forma linear. Quando o uso destas plataformas está associado a longos períodos de ecrã e a uma utilização mais passiva, tende a favorecer o sedentarismo e a reduzir oportunidades de movimento. Contudo, as plataformas digitais também podem aproximar os utilizadores de conteúdos, comunidades e práticas relacionadas com o exercício físico, a motivação e a saúde. Assim, sustenta-se que esta relação é ambivalente e depende da idade, do contexto de utilização, da intensidade do uso e do equilíbrio entre tempo digital e experiências corporais reais. Torna-se, por isso, importante reforçar a literacia digital e valorizar a AF.
