Non-verbal and proxemic communication: Its importance in different areas

This article explores the importance of non-verbal communication and proxemics in interpersonal relationships. Throughout it, we are shown that non-verbal communication includes both personal presence and human interaction through gestures, facial expressions, tone of voice and other signals. These play a very important role in conveying feelings, emotions and context. It also addresses proxemics, which refers to the use of interpersonal space in communication. It explains how proxemics works as a complement to non-verbal communication, thus influencing the dynamics of building good relationships between individuals. In addition, the article discusses the application of non-verbal communication and proxemics in different areas such as teaching, health and the organizational environment, emphasizing the need to understand and effectively use these forms of communication in order to build positive and effective interpersonal relationships, however this topic presents some threats, which are also referenced in the article, such as cultural issues that can hinder its application.
