Social networks and the new political parties

The world of Portuguese politics has undergone quite significant changes in recent times due to the communication strategies applied by the parties. In fact, the work carried out and the innovation applied in their communication has made people more interested in politics and has led to changes in the Portuguese political spectrum. This article will analyse the communication of Livre, Iniciativa Liberal and Chega, the parties most recently elected to parliament, by collecting data from two of each party's social networks.The main objective is to understand the communication strategies that each of these parties adopts on social media and to understand the public's preferences in relation to political communication.
