Abstract

This work describes the process and presents the results of a workshop implemented in a French Foreign Language (FLE) in a library context. Activities that were designed to overcome the difficulties identified by students in learning compound tenses, namely the passé composé - and consolidate their use will be presented and discussed. Of the difficulties experienced by students, the choice of the auxiliary (être or avoir) and the agreement of the past participation with the subject and the direct complement stand out, when the latter is before the verb. They are the starting point for a sequence of tasks of gradual complexity, based on a selection of excerpts from literary text, which we move on to conclude that differentiated strategies are a good way to increase student motivation and involvement, leading to better results learning process is a possible solution to the difficulties experienced in the teaching-learning process of this content.
