Abstract

This case study aims to understand the transversal and technical skills that graduates of the degree in Multimedia Communication from the Politécnico da Guarda developed during the internship period. In this sense, three objectives were defined: (1) to list the transversal skills developed by the students of the degree in Multimedia Communication during the internship in the academic years 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021, (2) to understand which technical skills were acquired during the degree in Multimedia Communication that students had the opportunity to deepen and develop in the context of an internship and (3) list the technical skills acquired by students of the degree in Multimedia Communication during the internship in the academic years 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 that the student has not previously developed within the scope of the degree. In order to collect the data necessary for the study, we applied a questionnaire survey and a subsequent quantitative analysis of the collected data. The data collected were segmented according to the study plans in force at the time of the internship (approved in 2009 or 2017) and the results are presented according to this same segmentation.
