Electronic surveillance and counterproductive behaviors: perception of the supervisor support in a remote work context

This study aims understand whether there is a positive relationship between Electronic Surveillance and Counterproductive Behaviours, to analyse whether attitudes towards Electronic Surveillance mediate this relationship; and to discover whether the Perception of Supervisor Support acts as a moderator. A theoretical review was carried out on all the variables under study and an online questionnaire has been used. We obtained a sample of 248 employees from companies in the Information Technology (IT) sector. The results reveal a positive relationship between Perception of Electronic Surveillance and Counterproductive Behaviours and we concluded that negative attitudes towards surveillance play an important role in mediating this relationship. We also found that the Perception of Supervisor Support acted as a moderator.
