Summary of Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted for publication in the Review of Business and Legal Sciences undergo a double-blind peer review, critical in maintaining the standards of the published articles.

Each received manuscript is assigned to a REBULES Editor in order to assess conformity to the Review’s aim and scope, manuscript formatting and language errors. Manuscripts that may be found to not conform to REBULES submission guidelines may be subject to be returned to authors for adjustments or rejected.

Manuscripts that are found to comply with guidelines and conform to the Review’s aim and scope will move forward for full peer-review process. Editors may choose to assign additional reviewers to evaluate the manuscript. REBULES operates a double-blind peer review process in which reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and vice versa. Based on review evaluation, the manuscript may be accepted or rejected, or at this stage once again, returned to the author for even further adjustments.

Reviewers are to be objective and timely while preparing their evaluation reports, and their conclusions should be properly justified. Manuscripts are kept confidential, and should the reviewer find that there are conflict of interests or is simply unavailable for the review process the editor is duly notified.

Publication Ethics

Authors should observe high standards with respect to publication ethics as set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). When submitting a manuscript to REBULES, authors should be advised that falsification or fabrication of data, plagiarism, including duplicate publication of the authors’ own work without proper citation, and misappropriation of work are all unacceptable practices.

Thus, authors who submit to REBULES agree with the following ethical guidelines:

Article authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who contributed significantly to the conception, execution, or interpretation of the study reported.

Originality and Plagiarism: Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original articles and, if authors have used the work and/or words of others, this has been appropriately referenced or cited.

Data Access and Retention: Authors may be asked to provide raw data related to a paper for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data.

Multiple, Redundant, or Simultaneous Publication: An author should generally not publish papers describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or major publication.

Source Acknowledgement: appropriate acknowledgement and citation.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: All submissions must include disclosure of all relationships that could be perceived as presenting a potential conflict of interest.

Funding: Authors must provide details of the source of funding received during the preparation of the manuscript.

Editorial Policy

REBULES publishes original articles that have undergone a double-blind review process. The submission of manuscripts is available through this online platform, being both the submission process and publication completely free of charge. When submitting a manuscript, authors assume that the contents are not copyrighted and will not be reviewed by any other publication.

Submitted manuscripts are firstly assessed by the Editors. After this first stage of the review process, manuscripts are then sent to external expert reviewers for a final review, when a decision to accept or reject a manuscript will be made. Editors should guarantee the confidentiality of the submitted work, the anonymity of the reviewers and the thorough execution of the double-blind peer review process.

Depending on the number of reviews and respective analysis and response by the authors, submission to publication is expected to be completed within 3-5 months.
