The labor market is changing rapidly and in many ways, namely the revolution in information and communication technologies, globalization, flexibility and the changing structure of work, leading to increasing unpredictability and the need to deal with this context of uncertainty. These changes inevitably have implications for the set of skills needed for workers to be able to function adequately in the current job market, an increasingly competitive global market and constantly changing. Thus, nowadays, the job market requires more than expertise, rather than theoretical and technical knowledge, claims for workers able to meet the requirements, able to undertake activities not just run them capable of add value to organizations. Thus, any professional that is best for your technical field, will find it difficult to enter and remain in the market if it is not able to develop a set of transferable skills that will support and liaison between technical knowledge and professional practice and the become distinctive and competitive in the current work context. It is in this scenario that emerge transversal skills that increasingly assume greater importance. The objective of this work is to identify the soft skills required for newly graduates of higher education in the global market. Initially, analyzes the concept of cross racing, highlighting the variety of names used to name the same, the existence of different definitions of the concept and identifying their common characteristics. In this sense review of national and international literature on transversal skills in graduates was held, whether from the perspective of the graduates themselves, whether from the perspective of employers. Through content analysis, at various stages, the eight most valued soft skills were identified by continent, continental specificities were analyzed; and finally identified were those that were more referenced to define the eighth transversal skills required in the global market. The theoretical and empirical implications of the findings of this study are discussed.Published
