Information Science faces challenges in promoting the visibility of queer literature on digital platforms, where generic terms or terms limited to literary genre are often adopted. This study seeks to discuss the dimensions of reading and interpreting this literature, focusing on the social context of users and the visibility of these works in informational contexts. To this end, a qualitative, applied, and exploratory approach was used, with case studies of the works Orlando, by Virginia Woolf, and Giovanni's Room, by James Baldwin. The analysis of the results was based on a complete reading of the works and content analysis, identifying recurring themes and evaluating the appropriateness of the terms used on informational platforms. As a contribution, new terms were proposed, based on a specialized glossary of LGBTQIAP+ terms, seeking to increase the visibility and social contextualization of the works. It was concluded that the platforms analyzed still have significant gaps in the attribution of terms that effectively reflect the content and social relevance of these narratives.
