During their undergraduate studies, Brazilian librarians receive generalist training. Consequently, they need to seek knowledge and develop specialized skills for the institution where they will work. Considering technical-scientific events as fertile spaces for knowledge sharing, these events are studied as an opportunity for their continued education on rare collections, based on the concept of informal means for scientific communication. The general theme of this research is the construction of knowledge about rare collections based on the papers presented at the National Meeting on Rare Collections. The overall objective is to draw a parallel between the references used in the papers published in two editions of the event. The specific objectives are to identify the authors who stand out in the selected texts and to verify whether their authorships vary or remain cited. Understanding the dynamics of knowledge construction and sharing in the field of rare collections through the texts of a national event is the justification for conducting this research. It is assumed that technical-scientific events, in addition to enabling the creation of partnership networks, are opportunities for librarians to acquire knowledge that complements, deepens, and updates their training. The research results compare the approaches, main themes and concepts discussed, and the most frequently used references in the papers from two editions of the Meeting. It is understood that the production of knowledge shared at technical-scientific events also serves as a resource for continuing education and encourages independent learning to implement better strategies in daily practice.
