This paper analyzes the methodologies used in studies on non-users in Higher Education Libraries over the past decade (2015–2025). The relevance of this analysis lies in the identification of patterns, trends, and gaps in this field of research, with the aim of providing useful insights for the development of more effective and strategic methods to understand the phenomenon of non-users in HELs. Given the scarcity of methodological studies, this investigation aims to carry out a literature review focused on the methods followed in studies on non-users, using the databases Web of Science, Scopus, LISA, RCAAP, and b-on. The results reveal a predominance of unsystematic literature reviews and quantitative studies based on questionnaire surveys. It is concluded that, while it is important to continue conducting quantitative research to gather statistical data, the development of complementary qualitative approaches—still unexplored in this area—is recommended.
