Luís Cardoso and Senna Fernandes are important writers in the Portuguese
literary scene and provide, on the Orient, unique writings that allow expanding the Lusophone
experience in various vectors: social, ethnic, historical, cultural and literary. Interestingly, both
share, aesthetically, representations of the female figure that inhabits the multicultural spaces of Macau and Timor. In this context, the present article intends three core actions: i) to establish
an approach on the technical-compositional and thematic particularities of the authors; ii) to
explain the figure of women in Portuguese-speaking literature in the East, giving it an academic
attention that has proved to be sparse; iii) contribute to the literary study of authors who express
themselves in Portuguese and, in this way, increase knowledge about countries and areas that
have Portuguese as their official language.
