Through interviews, informal conversations, stories of life and of written sources, the present study aims to reconstitute the history of training, cultural traits and
the construction of the identity of the Remaining village of quilombola São José de Icatu, in the municipality of Mocajuba, in the State of Pará. In this sense, if sought to analyze how the residents of this village are organizing in the fight and/or claim their rights, in order to understand what difficulties they face today and how are seeking alternatives in order to solve them.
