The present work focuses on the study of the character Guirigó, the only child character in the novel Grande sertão: veredas (2006), classic of Brazilian literature, written by João Guimarães Rosa. Although a co-operative in the work and probably for that reason focus of scarce analyzes and rare studies, it reveals fundamental aspects of the narrative. We will adopt theoretical texts about the novel, such as Grandesertão. (2006), by Willi Bolle, Antonio Candido's The Man from Averses (1957), “The Problem of Homosexuality in Great Sertão: Veredas”, in Kathrin Rosenfield's Unconscious entry (1992), and studies and articles that analyze - albeit briefly - the character in question, as in Grndsrt: vertigo of a puzzle (2001) by Marcelo Marinho and Images of the Great Sertao(1998) by Arlindo Daibert, among others.
