The Visit of the Old Lady by the Swiss Author Friedrich Dürrenmatt: A Story of Revenge, Justice and Guilt

Abstract

In this article will be made a presentation of the tragicomedy The Visit of the Old Lady of the Swiss author Friedrich Dürrenmatt. This play has been represented countless times all over the world and also in Portugal and it remains current until today. The reasons for the constant representations are in the literary genre chosen by this Swiss author and also in his conception of literature. The plot is very simple and the topics -revenge, justice and guilt - are part of the lives of human beings.
