Abstract

This article analyses the theater in Brazil during the decades of 1500-1980. It remembers the theater companies which have developed a striking work in Brazil, including the political theater since 1950.The Brazilian audienceis characterized and also highlighted its particular behavior and reactions duringtheatre performances.
