This work consists of analyzing a case, event or story (among others) from a cultural point of view, within the field of Intercultural Studies, complementing and making parallels with the topics taught in class. The topic chosen was the analysis, not restricted to the title of the work, of the series Orange is the New Black, which can be seen on the streaming channel Netflix. The series is based on the experience of Piper Kerman, an American woman who was imprisoned for just over a year for drug trafficking and money laundering. During her time in prison, she created the blog "The Pipe Bomb" to chronicle her experiences in prison. The series has several adventures inspired by Piper Kerman's experience - Piper Chapman in the series - and in my opinion the chosen theme is totally appropriate for this project, since it is rich in the fusion of cultures and ethnicities, where they contrast and where conflicts arise that although conditioned by life in prison, may well be transferred to situations of life outside it. My analysis will consist of a contextualisation of the series with a superficial summary of it, to present the most relevant characters to illustrate the correlation between their lives, behaviours and social relationships, with the studied themes on culture and from there explain the interest of their being mentioned.
