“Uma Visita a Portugal” Hans Christian Andersen

Abstract

Hans Christian Andersen is well known for his children’s tales, however, this book "A Visit to Portugal" is a different kind of writing for a different kind of audience, and this article will analyse it. In this one, the author writes an account of Portugal from his perspective, interculturally, he also places us a few centuries ago, around 1866, and tells us about the monarchy that prevailed at that time and what the Portuguese people were like.
