Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Aims and scope of the journal
The pages of E-REI create a virtual space for the exchange of ideas and research in the vast area of Intercultural Studies, in its intersection with Cultural Studies, Translation & Interpretation Studies, Communication Studies and Literary and Linguistic Studies. The Call for Papers is open annually between October and February. In the event of a large influx of articles, it becomes possible to publish one or more volumes in June and July.
The idea for this journal arose from the interest of our students and research fellows in scientific activity and the need to disseminate the work carried out by CEI and its collaborators and partners, both national and international, and both teachers and students. E-REI's target audience includes researchers, academics, teachers and undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as the general public.
Intercultural knowledge, dialogue, coexistence and understanding are essential factors in the multiculturalism that characterizes contemporary society. Hence the importance of the INTER prefix “interculturality”: INTER as a movement of mutual knowledge and as a model of reciprocal communication, in equality, with no dominant or dominated party. The idea of multiculturalism has oscillated between utopia and political exploitation, since, in reality, many so-called multicultural societies only tolerate the presence of the so-called dominant cultures.
Editorial quality control
All manuscripts submitted to the journal are initially analyzed by the editorial team for their thematic and methodological suitability. Subsequently, they are subjected to a blind peer review process, carried out by at least two independent evaluators. The review includes an analysis of the originality, scientific rigor, clarity and relevance of the contribution. Where necessary, additional reviews may be requested. This process ensures the scientific integrity and quality of the articles published.
Declaration of exemption from fees
I declare that no publication fees are charged.
Repository Policy
