Procrastinação: Porque adiamos o inevitável e como reduzir este comportamento?

Resumo

A sociedade tem vindo a adotar um ritmo de vida cada vez mais acelerado, marcado por exigências crescentes e constante exposição a estímulos digitais. Neste artigo, analisa-se a procrastinação enquanto fenómeno multifatorial, focando em três causas principais: a dificuldade em lidar com emoções negativas, o impacto das distrações digitais, e a baixa autoeficácia associada a crenças negativas. A análise evidencia que a procrastinação afeta o desempenho académico e profissional, assim como o bem-estar psicológico, que originam ciclos de stress e diminuem a produtividade. Além disto, são discutidas estratégias de intervenção com base no desenvolvimento da autorregulação, gestão emocional e controlo de estímulos. Conclui-se que a redução da procrastinação exige medidas específicas adaptadas ao contexto atual, mostrando-se essencial promover competências individuais e ambientes que favoreçam o envolvimento e a execução das tarefas.
