Resumo

Mais do que espaços de partilha, as redes sociais têm a capacidade de moldar a forma como percecionamos o real e o digital. Neste contexto, criam-se expectativas pouco realistas sobre o que é autêntico e o que é construído para corresponder às dinâmicas do algoritmo. A exposição constante a conteúdos filtrados, editados e estrategicamente produzidos influencia a forma como interpretamos a realidade, podendo levar os utilizadores a adotar padrões e expectativas que nem sempre correspondem ao mundo real. Esta dinâmica torna-se particularmente evidente entre as gerações mais jovens, que crescem num ambiente marcado pela validação digital e pela comparação constante. Este artigo sustenta que os filtros digitais, os conteúdos visualmente aperfeiçoados e as ferramentas de Inteligência Artificial (IA) contribuem para a normalização de padrões estéticos irreais entre adolescentes, porque tornam a manipulação visual mais acessível, mais subtil e mais difícil de reconhecer; por isso, a literacia digital, a mediação parental e a educação crítica sobre IA tornam-se essenciais para proteger a autoimagem e promover uma relação mais saudável com a aparência.
