Digital transformation has profoundly changed the traditional dynamics of the labor market. Currently, social networks have transcended their original function of entertainment to become strategic instruments for Human Resources management. This article analyzes the impact of these platforms on recruitment and selection processes, exploring emerging opportunities such as global talent access and optimized communication, as well as their inherent risks, namely the invasion of the private sphere and the influence of cognitive biases. Drawing on contributions from authors such as Barber (1998), Breaugh (2008), and Caers & Castelyns (2011), it argues that the effectiveness of these processes depends on a rigorous balance between technological innovation and ethical responsibility, ensuring that digitalization enhances merit identification without compromising the fundamental rights of candidates. The article demonstrates how social recruitment demands new skills from human resources professionals and a posture of organizational transparency.
