Communication: the political correctness guideline

Abstract

Political correctness, and its impact on the most diverse branches of communication, involves the inclusion of minority groups and the reduction of inequalities. In this article, I address various issues relating to the political correctness movement, including its inherent challenges, its origins and arguments for and against its use, carrying out an analysis based on news and other articles. To improve understanding and development of the topics covered, examples have been added where appropriate. This topic divide’s opinion and finding the balance between the sensitivity of political correctness and freedom of expression proved to be people's main difficulty.
