Abstract

Marketing is constantly evolving and over time companies value different strategies to differentiate themselves in the market. The critic\1Aal reflection article aims to explore two different marketing strategies: manipulation and seduction. Before that, it’s presented the importance of semiotics in advertising language, in order to make it more appealing and interesting, through the polysemy of words in the message and the use of metaphor. Next, manipulation marketing and seduction marketing are analyzed in depth with examples of techniques used in both strategies. To understand the best and most effective strategy, we reflect on the psychosociology of the consumer and their behavior when purchasing products. Finally, some successful companies are analyzed and which of the strategies they prioritize, the manipulation marketing or the seduction marketing.
