A sense of belonging is a basic human need that applies in all contexts of life, including the work environment. Making employees feel part of a team can lead to greater motivation, engagement and productivity. Salary is no longer the only attractive element in organizations and nowadays, when seeking a new challenge, employees aspire for a place where they can feel useful and valued, as part of a community. The consequences of this behaviour are greater competitiveness, valorisation of the companies that promote this feeling, an increase in productivity and a reduction in employee turnover. In this article, these issues are addressed and strategies to create a strong and lasting sense of belonging among employees are presented.
