Abstract

At a time when there is a growing awareness of environmental issues and a greater importance placed on the concept of "sustainability," we are also seeing an increase in "Greenwashing," a term that has gained strength in recent times.

Throughout this article, there will be an introduction to the meaning of "Greenwashing" followed by a brief history of its emergence and its causes. It will also discuss the several types of Greenwashing that exist and the most well-known cases among the public. This approach relates the growing environmental awareness and how brands adopt strategies to keep up with it, focusing on the urgency that organizations feel to communicate that they are "green" and prioritize their image rather than their actions.
