Abstract

Society has been adopting an increasingly fast-paced lifestyle, marked by growing demands and constant exposure to digital stimuli. This article analyzes procrastination as a multifactorial phenomenon, focusing on three main causes: difficulty in coping with negative emotions, the impact of digital distractions, and low self-efficacy associated with negative beliefs. The analysis shows that procrastination affects academic and professional performance, as well as psychological well-being, leading to cycles of stress and reduced productivity. Furthermore, intervention strategies based on the development of self-regulation, emotional management, and stimulus control are discussed. It is concluded that reducing procrastination requires specific measures adapted to the current context, making it essential to promote individual skills and environments that foster engagement and task completion.
